Seaview, Isle of Wight
The Salt House
“A beautiful coastal escape for slow mornings, sea air and unforgettable Island stays.”
- Sleeps 4
- 2 bedrooms
- 1 bathroom
- Parking
- Dog-friendly
Tucked along a quiet lane a short stroll from the water, The Salt House is the kind of cottage that asks you to slow down. Whitewashed walls, lavender at the gate and a glimpse of the Solent at the end of the road set the tone before you’ve even found the key.
Inside, it is all oak floors, soft linen and that particular seaside light that makes a second pot of coffee feel entirely reasonable. Days here tend to arrange themselves: a swim or a walk along the sea wall, lunch somewhere with a view, and evenings in the garden as the sky turns gold.

01
Welcome to The Salt House
Some places feel like a holiday the moment you step inside. The Salt House is one of them: calm, unfussy and quietly considered, with everything you need and nothing you don’t.
It is a cottage for couples who want to read the papers in the garden, for friends who like long breakfasts, and for small families who want the beach close enough to go twice in a day.

02
Beautiful spaces to unwind
The sitting room centres on an old stone fireplace and wood burner — the obvious place to end a breezy autumn walk. Deep linen sofas, a jute rug and shelves of well-thumbed books do the rest.
Through the hall, the kitchen is properly equipped for cooking with the Island’s produce: a range cooker, butler sink and an oak farmhouse table that seats four comfortably and six at a squeeze.

03
Rest easy
Upstairs, the main bedroom has a king-size bed dressed in crisp linen and a sash window that frames a slice of sea. Leave the curtains open and wake with the light.
The twin room suits children or friends, with two oak single beds and cheerful navy-striped throws. Between them, a bathroom with a roll-top bath that has been known to delay dinner.

04
A little outdoor living
Behind the cottage, a sheltered walled garden catches the evening sun. There’s a weathered oak table for long suppers, lanterns for when the light fades, and lavender that hums with bees in high summer.
Dogs are welcome, and the garden is fully enclosed — ideal for a sandy spaniel after a morning on the beach.
